Never been on moon..but the moon might look like this big rock – Savan Durga, Asia’s largest monolithic rock!

  5. I grew up in a place (Sudbury, Ontario, Canada) that was known for its moon-like landscape. So much so that In the 1970s, astronauts practiced there in preparation for their moon landing. Your image of Savan Durga looks very similar. Certainly not a very photogenic subject. I love the way it’s brightened up by the women’s saris. As the largest monolith in Asia, I’m so glad to learn about it through your photography.

    • That is amazing…if we try to think what could a plateau formed by volcanoes have in common with a distant arctic city!

      Amy, it seems Indina women will anything in a sari! I always wondered how they manage not to trip over the myriad folds of their saris, and there they were gleefully scaling a rock!
