Lone Tusker

While it was busy feeding on bamboo, I tried to get closer from behind. It sensed my approach and turned to face me. You could feel its belligerence. It was a lone tusker.

  2. and i am happy that it didn’t charge at you 🙂

  3. wow, that is awesome!!!

    Thanx Axinia 🙂

  4. Like the Zulu dancers in Africa, this tusker got upset that you were photographing its derriere.

It almost looks beningn. Why are you accusing the poor creature of being belligerent?

  5. @Mavin, a tamed haati keeps its head bowed. This one was shaking its head up and down. Still I was a cutie….they all are, esp their behind.

@Sakhi, an elephant has enough sense to not charge at a rock. It is simply pointless 🙂

  6. Tusky looks quite calm. Deceptively calm!

  7. Raj, you are welcome to play with your tusk 🙂

  8. 😳 So, i changed your gender… sorry, didn’t know!! Mysore is a city (if i am not wrong) so how do you get to see such wild life so oftenly! I am really curious!!

  9. Mysore is a small city with a forest and a bird sanctuary nearby. It is not unusual for Cheetas to stray into the city (and get killed 😦

  10. A tiger playing with a tusky? I guess it would be a 50-50 😉 🙂

  11. hey even i mistook your gender……:(…
if its a sanctuary, are people allowed to visit like they allow for zoo…or is it more silent??

  12. @Raj, I will answer soon 🙂

@Sahaja, don’t compare the devilish zoo with a sanctuary. In the later there are no barriers between you and the ‘beast’…its really great fun. Zoos must be closed….they are a crime.

  13. ohh!!!!!!! Actually, I went to Zoo only twice till now…..and its like we are in a cage like thing, so i thought its the same…

anyways…..what i was asking was…wud it be as crowdy as zoo 🙂

  14. No. On the contrary, you must be lucky to spot a wild beast, deer are in plentiful.
