    I wonder what is he actaully worshiped for? Which qualities of him are important for INdians?

    Also, he symbolizes:-
    Vigneshwara – surmount obstracles.
    Vinayak – independent, self-realized.
    (He too is the God of wisdom).

    (But Axinia, why you are 2 days late).

  4. Not just Ganesha, every God (except the 3 big guns) have a innocent image, usually from their childhood.

  5. but Ganesha IS an evernal child, differently from other Deities… You do not underline this point in India? – because it is really something special, in no other religion the child Principle is shown or worshiped…
