The Gopalswami Temple is 700 years old and dedicated to Lord Krishna. Situated atop Himavad Gopalswami Betta, near (90 kms!) Mysore, it is famous for being misty and chilly all year long!

Finally, a green transport for Bangalore – Namma Metro (Our Metro)! People are so excited…and how! The long queue of people waiting to buy a ride on it reminds me of children lining up for toy train at carnivals For now, I am happy to get this photo of a new metro coach as it snakes its way through the signature skyline of the beautiful city!

Imagine dressing in a century old style and walking down the streets of a modern city, it’s a sure fire way to stand out of the crowd. And no one pulls off this trick more elegantly than old building tucked ways in the concrete jungle that is today’s Bangalore. Like this church on Avenue Road (known for book stalls) that stops you in your tracks and makes you grab your friend’s mobile phone! I hope these diamonds are forever.

Venugopalswami Temple on the banks of river Kaveri near Mysore.

It is another well preserved specimen of Hoysala architecture. The entrance faces the river, with the steps descending into the river itself! Off the tourist trails for now, it is quite calm and peaceful here.
